Weekday Youth Sailing

WEEKDAY YOUTH SAILING

Exciting New Initiative: Sailing for All!

Introducing an exhilarating new initiative that captures the essence of MRYS’s mission—bringing sailing, teamwork, and confidence to youth across Manatee County and surrounding areas, especially those who otherwise may not have access to the sport.

This initiative empowers us to truly embody our mission, opening the world of sailing to youth who have never experienced its beauty. With your support, we can pave the way for learning, confidence, and community engagement, creating lasting impacts that will benefit both MRYS and Manatee County for years to come.

Join Us for Weekday Youth Sailing!

Experience an unforgettable afternoon on the Manatee River with our Weekday Youth Sailing program, designed for youth ages 6 to 16.

Program Highlights

  • Explore with Friends: Sailors have the unique opportunity to discover the beauty of the water in a relaxed, supervised environment, making it perfect for friendship and fun!
  • Trained Instructors: Our instructors are on hand to assist with rigging boats, leading exciting games and activities, all while ensuring safety on the water.
  • Integrated STEM and Education: Participants will explore the principles of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) through sailing, learning about buoyancy, boat design, and navigation technology. This hands-on experience reinforces educational concepts and allows students to apply classroom knowledge in a practical setting, enhancing their understanding of both sailing and academic subjects.

By merging sailing with educational opportunities, we aim to inspire curiosity and a passion for learning. This initiative not only teaches essential sailing skills but also builds confidence and fosters resilience among young sailors. We aspire to instill a lasting commitment to sailing, encouraging them to embrace teamwork and personal growth as they navigate their unique journeys on the water.
